Veteran Cam Heyward of the Pittsburgh Steelers lashes out at supporters who want him to retire saying

Heyward had a difficult 2023 season because he missed two months of action due to surgery for a groyne ailment.

Even when he came back, it was clear that his recovery was incomplete.

Heyward has the fewest number of sacks at the end of the season—two—since 2012.

In order to treat his persistent groyne injury, he is currently having a second surgery. Heyward has declared he won’t accept a compensation decrease.

To lower his 2024 cap charge, the team probably will renegotiate his contract.
