It should come as no surprise that the Buffalo Bills won’t be using the franchise tag in the 2024 offseason.

There have only been five instances in the Bills’ franchise history where the tag has been applied. Head coach Sean McDermott and general manager Brandon Beane have never chosen to utilise it on a player; the last time it was used was on Cordy Glenn in 2016.

Buffalo Bills unlikely to use franchise tag in 2023 offseason
By 2024, that won’t have changed.

The deadline for using the tag opened last week. The NFL then revealed the salary cap amount for the next season, and the Bills’ own cap space improved as a result of the great boost.
