Leslie Frazier, the Buffalo Bills’ defensive coordinator for six seasons, said almost a year ago today that he would not be rejoining the team.
When it came to who will call plays in the upcoming season, McDermott was responding to queries at the NFL Combine.
McDermott would ultimately call the plays for the Bills’ defensive unit as the team would not employ a defensive coordinator. McDermott did a fantastic job, especially in light of all the ailments the squad endured last season, as the team ended up allowing the fourth fewest scores, fourth in sacks, and third in takeaways.
