Ohio State plays the Golden Gophers at Minnesota on Thursday night to start a two-game road trip. The Buckeyes defeated No. 2 Purdue 73-69 on Sunday, their greatest victory of the year. It was interim head coach Jake Diebler’s first game in charge after
Chris Holtmann was sacked. As they gained the lead late in the first half and never looked back, Diebler’s coaching debut was a big success. With a team-high 22 points from Bruce Thornton and 19 from Jamison Battle, the Buckeyes won their second straight game. They are currently 5-10 in the Big Ten and 15-11 overall.
