Josh McCown is an 18-year NFL veteran who has coached quarterbacks for 12 organisations. The Minnesota Vikings announced his hiring on Tuesday.
Now the pass game specialist, Chris O’Hara was the Vikings 2022–2023 quarterbacks coach. In his first season as an NFL assistant, McCown coached Carolina’s quarterbacks last season.
In order to keep the Vikings from making the playoffs in 2003, McCown, 44, famously defeated them with a last-play touchdown throw to Nate Poole in the last regular-season game. McCown was selected by Arizona in the third round of the 2002 NFL Draft. Kevin O’Connell, who is starting his third season as the Vikings’ head coach, was McCown’s quarterbacks coach with Cleveland in 2015.
