Vikings will visit Browns for joint practices in Cleveland this summer

The Vikings will be travelling for combined practices for the first time in a while. In recent years, they have mostly hosted other teams during those sessions because their facilities,  Performance Centre, is so excellent. They held a few sessions before their respective preseason games last year, one each for the Titans and the Cardinals. The  were hosted there in 2022. The Broncos did it in 2021. The Jaguars visited Minnesota in the last year.

Given the connections between the senior groups of the two organisations, the Browns make a lot of sense as a joint practice partner. Vikings general managerFollowing a few years in Cleveland as the vice president of football operations under general manager Andrew Berry—whom he regards as one of his greatest mentors—Kwesi Adofo-Mensah was brought on two years ago. Kevin O’Connell and Kevin Stefanski, the head coaches of both teams, were previously the opposing team’s assistant coaches. Prior to accepting the position as head coach with the Browns, Stefanski spent 14 years with the Vikings.

The Browns went 11-6 and took second place in the AFC North the previous season. Individual honours were to Joe Flacco (comeback player of the year), Jim Schwartz (assistant coach of the year), Myles Garrett (defensive player of the year), and Stefanski (coach of the year). When they faced Houston in the wild card round, the season came to an abrupt end.
