Before a Morgan Smith try in the 79th minute gave Hull FC their first Super League victory of the season, they trailed the London Broncos, who were now bottom of the standings following three straight losses. Hull FC had led 16–4 at the half.In a game marred by mistakes, Hull FC defeated London 28–24 at the MKM Stadium thanks to a late try by Morgan Smith, capping a far from impressive start to the Super League season.

After a James Meadows try gave the Broncos the lead, Nick Staveley, Matty Russell, and Lewis Martin scored for the hosts, the latter of whom scored when they were down to 10 men following Russell’s sin bin.

Hull led 16–4 at halftime, justifiably, with to two conversions from Darnell McIntosh. After tries from Lee Kershaw and Hakim Miloudi pulled the visitors to within two points at 16–14, the fears of the home crowd were allayed by a converted try from Fa’amanu Brown.
