Leeds United, Leicester City, Southampton and Ipswich Town have all been embroiled in a highly competitive fight for the top two this season. All four sides have had on-and-off spells, and all four have treated Championship fans to some fantastic football.

The run-in is well and truly upon us and the fight for automatic promotion is still alive.

As they have for much of the season, Leicester City lead the way. A win over Sunderland after three straight defeats leaves them three points clear at the top of the Championship table.

Ipswich Town are in hot pursuit in 2nd, recovering from a blip to win six in a row. Leeds United are yet to taste league defeat in 2024, putting two points off the Tractor Boys in 3rd, while Southampton are now eight points off the automatics after a shaky run, though they hold a game in hand after Wednesday night’s game against Preston North End was postponed.
