Former Ipswich Town forward Freddie Sears has had his contract at National League side Dagenham & Redbridge cancelled by mutual consent.

The 34-year-old joined the fifth tier side in September last year following his release from Colchester United at the end of the 2022/23 season.

 

 

He made 23 appearances in all competitions, scoring one goal for the Daggers, who sit 13th in the table. He leaves the club with a few months left on his contract.

Sears spent six and a half years at Portman Road after signing from Colchester for £100,000 in January 2015.

He scored 34 goals in 217 games for Town, before heading back to the U’s after being released in Paul Cook’s ‘Demolition Man’ summer.
