Orlando Magic Head Coach Jamahl Mosley has been named the head coach of the 2023 USA Men’s Select Team, which will train with the USA Basketball Men’s National Team as it prepares for the 2023 FIBA Men’s World Cup, Aug. 25-Sep. 10 in Manila.

“It’s an honor to be selected to lead the USA Men’s Select Team and I am truly grateful,” Mosley said. “After serving as an assistant with the Select squad in 2021, I’m fully aware of the importance that our team will have in USA Basketball’s success this summer at the World Cup.Mosley became the 15th head coach in Orlando Magic history on July 11, 2021. During the 2022-23 campaign, he led the Magic to a 12-game improvement from the previous season – the best improvement in the Eastern Conference and third-best in the NBA.
Mosley came to Orlando after spending the previous seven seasons (2014-21) as an assistant coach with the Dallas Mavericks. While on the coaching staff, the Mavericks reached the NBA Playoffs four times. He has also served as the head coach on the Mavericks summer league team that competed in Las Vegas….
