Between March and September of 2001–2004, ORT ADELAIDE won an astounding 69 of 88 home and away games. One AFL grand final and one premiership were “converted” from this.

Brisbane won 64 home and away games in the same race for supremacy, participated in four straight grand finals, and won three consecutive flags.

In September, Port Adelaide finished 5-6 and Brisbane 11-2.

The two greatest rivals of this century, who underwent major transformations in 1996 to make room for Port Adelaide’s elevation from the SANFL, have ruled home-and-away footy from March to September for the last ten years.

But between the two teams, there has only been one appearance in a national grand final (in Brisbane last year), and no premiership. Every club has persevered.
