NEWS SPLAST: Coventry City transfer news live – Kitching deal done and go to Kansas city as Sky Blues complete summer in…….
Coventry City boss is keeping a tight grip on Kasey Palmer as the Sky Blues boss insists no more high profile players are leaving in the summer transfer window
Coventry City’s big summer transfer rebuild reaches its conclusion today with Mark Robins looking to put the finishing touches to his squad for the 2023/24 Championship campaign.
It’s been an eventful window with star men Viktor Gyokeres and Gustavo Hamer being reluctantly sold for a combined fee of around £35million which, along with nearly 19,000 season ticket sales, has provided the manager with the financial clout to significantly replenish and strengthen his team.
So far the Sky Blues have brought in eight permanent signings in Jay Dasilva on a free transfer from Bristol City, striker Ellis Simms for an initial £3.5million from Everton, Tatsuhiro Sakamoto for £1.5m from Oostende, goalkeeper Brad Collins from Barnsley (undisclosed), centre-halves Joel Latibeaudiere from Swansea (compensation) and Bobby Thomas for a reported £2m from Burnley, Milan van Ewijk for £3.4m from SC Heerenveen and striker Haji Wright for a club record fee of £7.7m from Turkish side Antalyaspor.
The club have also added two loans in centre-back Luis Binks from Bologna and attacking midfielder Yasin Ayari from Brighton.
There’s still time for Robins to splash a bit more cash as he looks to add a centre-back and central midfielder to his squad. Meanwhile, other than third choice goalkeeper Simon Moore, no-one else is expected to leave by tonight’s 11pm deadline.
