Jaylen Brown lands historic contract with Celtics, surpasses previous NBA deal record set by Nikola Jokic | Fox Business

Even though he may not be the best player on his own club, Allen Brown is currently the highest paid player in NBA history.

On Tuesday, Brown and the Boston Celtics reached an agreement on a five-year supermax contract for up to $304 million.

The $264 million contract signed by two-time league MVP and NBA champion Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets last summer is surpassed by this one, which is fully guaranteed and contains a trade kicker that would enhance Brown’s salary even further if he is transferred.

This past season, Brown—a two-time All-Star—was selected for the first time to the All-NBA second team.

His averages of 26.6 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 3.5 assists were career highs, placing him second on the Celtics in each of those categories.
