He ran for 192 metres and recorded five tackle breaks as the Broncos thrashed the Cowboys 38-12.

But the performance has ignited calls for Sailor to play regularly in the top grade, having struggled for opportunities at both the Broncos and Dragons in the five years since making his NRL debut.

Broncos legend Darren Lockyer agrees with the suggestion Sailor could play off the bench for Brisbane.

That role was filled by veteran winger Corey Oates during the thumping of North Queensland.

Oates ended up scoring a try and making three tackles breaks in his short stint on the field.

“I think it becomes a shootout between (Sailor) and Corey Oates,” Lockyer told Wide World of Sports’

“Corey was that (utility) player the week just gone, but when Reece comes back it will be between Corey and Tristan for who gets that potential spot on the bench.

“Tristan can play fullback but he can also play in the halves, so he reads the game very well.

“It’s a credit to him, because he’s had to start all over again and work his way back into the system. He’s doing it behind someone like Reece Walsh, but he’s kept his head up and is playing some great football.”
