Live News: He is leaving to…

Very recently I logged onto Twitter (I’ll never originally refer to the platform as X) expecting to find an update or two regarding UofL Basketball and the transfer portal. And, if I’m admitting a guilty pleasure, I was also curious as to what Baylor Head Coach Scott Drew had decided in reference to whether he would accept the vacant gig at the school 70 miles east of Louisville.

I didn’t find much in the way of transfer portal updates. At my amusement I did quicky see some breaking news, however, announcing that Scott Drew would be staying in Waco. But it’s what I read shortly after seeing the coaching search updates that stuck with me throughout the rest of my afternoon and frankly up until this very moment.

Sadly, I along with other countless Twitter users (particularly those who are UofL fans) read that a well-known individual had very recently passed away. That individual who went by the Twitter handle @OyyyeeeCorito86, was a gentleman by the name of Jacori Mozee. Most knew him simply as Corito.

When I read the news, I was immediately taken aback. It left a sick feeling in my stomach. And although I never once met Corito in person, we had shared enough correspondence through social media that I felt as if I knew him like a distant friend.

The saying holds true: life can be both fragile and short.

Based on what I learned about Jacori from what others stated online was that he was a proud father, a true friend to many and undoubtedly a huge University of Louisville fan who was full of energy and never shy of throwing an L’s up.
